Spuddy asked:

I have heard many people predict that by such and such date in the near future, China will surpass the US as the world’s economic super power. However, China exports heavily to the US, so if the American economy is unable to buy Chinese exports, how on earth can China grow economically?

Hong Kong travel can be a real adventure, and is a key destination for many travelers. It has a population of more than seven million, scattered throughout more than 200 islands.

• Located in Eastern Asia, near China and the South China Sea. Formerly, leased to Great Britain, Hong Kong was officially returned to China in 1997. Hong Kong offers diversity in: culture, religion, and lifestyles.

• Chinese, (Cantonese) and English are both the official language here. So foreigners, who are planning to visit, should not have any problems exploring, and experiencing the culture of this vibrant place since English is widely spoken.

• Hong Kong dollar is the currency in use here. One American dollar roughly equals 7 Hong Kong dollars.

• Hong Kong is known for its unique energetic vibe, its wonderful food, and beautiful skylines. It’s best to always bring a camera when roaming around in the city, so that you can try to capture the essence of this place, as it is truly unique.

• Hong Kong offers many great upscale shopping districts that rival the high end streets of Shanghai, London and Paris. But the best places to shop here are the unique shops and street markets that exhibit the charm and uniqueness of the

locality.

• It is wise to look around at the various stores to compare prices before buying anything. One of the great things about shopping here is that sales tax is exempted on everything in Hong Kong.

• The best way to get around Hong Kong is to purchase an Octopus payment card. This card takes you everywhere. It can also be used on any public transportation system, except taxis. It can even be used in vending machines, restaurants, and

convenience stores, fast food places, etc.

Some of the key places in Hong Kong are:

• Hong Kong Island is the most urbanized district. It’s the heart and soul of the city.

• Kowloon is one of, if not, the most populated cities in the world. It also offers the best view of the skyline.

• Disney Land Hong Kong is located in Lantau Island. This is the third International sight for a main Disney theme park. It is best to make reservations ahead of time for lodging as it tends to be packed, especially during the holidays.

Hong Kong also has a great natural landscape that can be seen by riding a train that goes all the way up to the higher part of Hong Kong Island. With so many things to do and sights to be seen, Hong Kong is truly a must see for any traveler.

I’m trying to do an economic analysis of the role of energy consumption in China’s ever-increasing pollution problem. If anyone could provide answers either quantitative or qualitative in nature it would be much appreciated. The sooner the better!

Delia Locust asked:

In the last few years, more and more people have been heading for the Far East in order to enjoy a memorable holiday taking in the unique sights and sounds of the region. The difference between the culture of Europe and America and countries in the Far East such as China, Thailand, and Malaysia is profound, and the experience of visiting these destinations really can be life changing in many ways.

One of the most popular destinations in the region is Thailand, and people travel from all over thee world in order to enjoy the many different experiences on offer.

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand, and it is one of the most impressive cities in the world. It is a place that combines the traditions of the country with a modern twist, and blends ancient monuments with shopping malls and plenty of other attractions. Most visitors to Thailand will spend at least a few days exploring Bangkok as part of their time in the country, and this provides an excellent introduction to the pleasures of the country. Make sure you visit the Grand Palace with its breath taking sculptures and the various different temples that are located within the same complex.

Aside from the gilded temples and shopping malls, Bangkok is also well known for its nightlife. Patpong Road is the centre of the action in the city, and aside from the night market that operates throughout the week there are countless bars to explore during your stay.

Once the pace of life in Bangkok becomes too much for you and you are ready to relax on the beach, Thailand has a number of options available to you. Pattaya is on the Gulf of Thailand around two hours south of the city. It has a reputation for great nightlife, but the beaches are pleasant although a little crowded at the weekend. The town has plenty of attractions, but is not always seen as the best destination for families, as the nightlife can be a bit racy.

For a more refined and laid back holiday in Thailand, why not consider visiting Cha Am or Hua Hin on the other coast of the country. These quieter destinations offer plenty of space to relax and unwind, and are great for families. There are several spa retreat type hotels in the area, and these are ideal for anyone keen on relaxing and enjoying their time.

The islands of Thailand such as Koh Samui, Krabi, and Phuket have long attracted travellers from all over the world with their beauty. Phuket is probably the most developed destination in the country, and offers an extensive range of hotels to suit all budgets. The main town has some exciting nightclubs and a good range of shops and the white sand beaches are amongst the most attractive in the country.

Aside from beaches and cities, Thailand also offers a range of inland destinations including Chiang Mai that give visitors the chance to see the more traditional Thai way of life including the famous hill tribes, and also a number of elephant sanctuaries.

Can China create money out of thin air and lend it to another country to make money?

sonyboy812 asked:

Can China do this just like how banks create money out of thin air via debt? Assuming the US pays back the debt, China will be richer. But, if US defaulted, it doesn’t matter to China because they just conjured up the money in the first place.

bebekyc asked:

I read a Chinese magazine that talked about how 10,000 factory owners fleed over night to escape the burden caused by China economy changes, such as the decrease on the export tax rebates. However, I’m still having a hard time understanding the 4 major reasons it mentioned; the tax rebates, the labor rights, the deposit on import and the increase on income tax. Can anyone elaborate more on these?

Nancy Eben asked:

Hong Kong is among those places that are unique and multifaceted, that it becomes very difficult to describe them. Popular as the ‘city of contrasts’, ‘world class city’, and an ‘amazing city’ all aptly sum up the city. Hong Kong today is a ‘special administrative region’ under the People’s Republic of China. Earlier the Hong Kong territory was under the British for many decades as a result of the 19th century Opium wars. In 1842, Hong Kong, came under the British and remained with them until the 1997 handover to China. With the policy of ‘one country, two systems’, Hong Kong will retain its own social, economical and political systems.

Hong Kong travel is unlike any other travel experience. From a small fishing village in the early 1800s, to a modern cosmopolitan metropolis of 21st century, all through it is an amazing journey. The city has grown into a vibrant city, an important financial and economical center, full with imposing sky rise buildings. The map of Hong Kong can be clearly marked of three main important areas of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the new territories and some 260 small outlying islands. This city of contrasts provides with an excellent opportunity, to experience at the same time an exciting modern city along with fusion of the ancient civilizations and rich traditions. It is a perfect picture out here with the city balancing the old and the new traditions, varied sights and attractions as varied as the people of the region.

Travel Hong Kong has in store a fantastic holiday destination for the travelers. A city that is always in the process of evolving and taking in on the modern advancements, tourists return with memorable times. The best time for Hong Kong travel is the period from October to December, when the days are sunny and cool comfortable nights. Even the months of January, February and March are good times to travel. However, summer months can get too hot and humid and even the cheapest months for the reason that it the low season for tourists because of the weather.

Traveling to Hong Kong would see unfolding of a city that is soaked in traditions yet taking in on the modern developments. In fact, it is an odd combination of everything one could expect to find here and asume of the city. The city’s vibrating commercial activity is the highlight of any holiday here. A vacation to Hong Kong is going to be packed, full of bright lights, exciting shopping opportunities, moving nightlife and an array of tourist attractions. For sure, every age group would find something to intrigue them and enjoy to their fullest. The attraction of ‘Symphony of Lights’ on the Hong Kong Island is a favorite place among the romantic couples, whereas the visitors with a family find the Ocean Park and Disneyland very interesting options. Catch the city’s best picture of the skyline from the Victoria Peak, considered to be amongst the best in the world.

Travel Hong Kong gives many reasons to travelers, who flock here from all over the world. However, it is the exceptional shopping, excellent food, cruising to the outlying islands and spending some relaxing moments in the lap of the nature that are not to be missed when traveling to Hong Kong.
