Several problems with the question.

1) You don't know that the U.S. Government is borrowing money from China. It almost certainly wouldn't happen and it would not be publicized.
1a) We have a Trade Deficit with them, not a currency one.
1b) Usually, the government will print more money, increase taxes or decrease spending (in that order).

2)Interest owed on national debt is going to be one of the lowest interest charged to any country because the U.S. is among the top nations in repaying debt. (less risk, less risk premium charged)

3)One of the people who labeled rebate checks "Bush Bucks" and your question have just a tinge of bitterness directed at our president and or government. I am not a big fan myself. To be fair, the U.S. is unquestionably the best nation on Earth and for those who don't like it, drive or fly in any direction long enough and they won't have to be here any longer.

As for the posters who aren't satisfied with the 600 dollars (or whatever it is they receive: If that isn't enough, attain another job, further educate yourself, put in overtime....Do not blame the government because you don't make enough money. That responsiblity rest squarely on your shoulders. The govt did not make you become what you are, you put yourself there. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS.

I'm still trying to stop laughing at Bush's notion that a measly $600 check is going to put our economy right back on track. Most of us are already so deep in debt that the money is going to go right back into the pockets of those that are responsible for the economic situation. People aren't going to spend their $600 on goods to boost the economy - they're going to pay off bills and buy food and gas.
