No, unless they could arrange another venue for the games in under 2 weeks which they couldn’t do, In the end every one will know the real china and what they stand for which would be a lot harder to do if all of the world’s spot light wasn’t on them.

As much as i hate China, i still say no. Its about games, and i just want to see America kick everybodies assses like the Iranians, Venezuelans, Chinese, Everybody that hates us. It is too late to make a stand, they should have done it already. I just hope the ugly truths of China come out in the Olympics, but they r gnna make themselves look good 4 the occasion, and wen all is done, they wll continue their Dictator ways

No. Beijing has been preparing for the Olympics for a very long time and have spent lots of money on the venues and other important things. Besides, it is impossible to move the Games somewhere else. New venues cannot be built in less than two weeks, and the process for awarding a city the Games is one that occurs years before that particular Games. People have bought their tickets. Anyways, I think politics should be separated from sports. Why can’t we just focus on the athletes who have trained so hard for this? Please do not link sports with other issues like the status of the country. I agree that human rights are very important, but they should be dealt with away from sports events.

China has done alot to the people and the world. Couple of hundreds of million people were lift from poverty. If not because of China, the products we buy off shelf would be trippling its price currently. Whatever had been accused of China are untrue or are not seem to be as bad. China have not declared war on any other nations before unlike the west particularly U S of A and British. If I were to call a boycott, i would do it to 2012 Olympics. But I am not as naive as you to call a boycott. Only adults who have children mentality, who could not do anything better for the world would want to adhere to these stupidity act.

1. it’s a frikin’ celebration of sport! SPORT! god dain it…people don’t get it…politics shouldn’t be invovled. Even president bush thinks that way, that’s his explanation for why he’s attending the opening ceremony.
2. Every country has a big problem…you don’t see people critisizing them. Using your line of thinking, the US shouldn’t have the olympics while it’s oppressing people in Iraq and thinking it’s the greatest country in the world with no limits. It shouldn’t be in France either cause the country is discriminating against Muslims. It shouldn’t ever be in the Middle East because they hate Israel and attack it, and it shouldn’t be in Israel cause they attack the Middle Easterns. It can’t be in central or south americas cause they are always having internal guerrila problems…you know…there’s not a darn place on this planet to have the olympics…except i think antartica should be where it’s held. The penguins are nice, and it’s sunny down there too.
