How do I become a middleman between say a business in China and Customers over the Internet? What will I need?

I’ve heard of people who sell products from China to Consumers, and they send their request over the web to the responding company in China–who then sends the product from China to the consumer. No warehouse needed. What does this entail, and what if I want to deal with more than one product? Do I have to file a licence somewhere? How do I find these companies? Are there other’s–say in India or elsewhere?
