In China, Resturants will serve you a glass of hot water unless you ask for it cold. Why?

If you order a glass of water with your meal in China, they serve it to you hot. There is already hot tea on the table so its not to make tea. Its usually too hot to drink right away. What is the reason for serving it hot?

We live in the philippines so we don’t have winter. I have experienced snow when i was in europe BUT my brothers still haven’t. We are planning to go to China next month which i believe is winter time. Which part of china gets thick thick snow? I don’t wanna disappoint my brothers. Although part of our itinerary is to see the great wall which is already “great” enough BUT of course it would be really nice if they can see some snow too.

Dog is my co-pilot asked:

In my AP Environmental class we’re doing a mock-debate on population control. My group is supposed to be representing China. I already have some good information on their ‘one-child’ policy aka family planning policy but I have a few other questions I cannot seem to find.
One of which is: what are the predominant ethnic and religious groups in China?
What is China’s literacy rate?
And what is their Educatin Policy?

If you get your information from a website please provide a link.
All help is appreciated, thanks.

Inquiring Atheist asked:

Who is a bigger threat to China out of the world super powers?

Also what do you think the CCP seeks to increase their soft powers or hard powers?

Recently we heard that China is expanding it’s military forces. (hard power) however what we don’t hear is how China is increasing their soft powers for almost a decade now.

Is global warming a scam run by China to drive up the cost of Western goods?

notadummyrat asked:

We spend fortunes on the envirnment and reducing or “carbon foot print” which of course gets added to the price of our goods and they spend nothing.

The funding for many USA based envirnmental groups has been found to originate in China.

Recently scientist said that just a single large volcanic eruption can put more carbon in the atmosphere then mankind has in all of recorded history. Thousands of volcanos erupt every year. How can we think our small contribution to atmospheric carbon could effect anything?

Al Gore was the guy that told us about the Y2K bug. Saying “planes will fall from the sky”. The USA spent billions fixing this “problem” (adding to the cost of our goods) yet nothing happened even in countries that spent nothing.

Isn’t it time to see past the hype? They are praying on your fears and have been for years.
