What is the difference between bone china and break and chip-resistant glass dinnerware?

My fiance and I are registering for dinnerware and I right away knew I wanted Corell’s chip/break resistant products, which are apparently glass… The guy helping us register at Bed Bath and Beyond is telling us to consider bone china. Im just wondering which is best. Thanks!
