How to extend a trip to china without buying another set of tickets?

The tickets were bought via AAdvantage using points. The tickets back involve one stop along the way at Chicago. I flew to China already and am about to leave, but I want to extend my trip another week. There’s no problem with my passport/visa so I can technically stay another month if I wanted to. Is there any way to extend my trip without buying another ticket home?
