#2 Actually their present policy has a double affect.
Women who have girls are allowed to have one more child to try for a boy.
Girl babies have traditionally been pushed aside/ disposed of.
BUT so now there are not enough girls for the guys to marry.
Huge number of bachelors. This cuts down the population growth also
PS Women are now being encouraged to keep their girl babies. The govt. is giving them free monthly bonus money coupons etc. if they keep the female.
** It’s not a one child policy anymore.
